Step 4.
Attend a Practice Swim
The LA County Lifeguards host 4 practice swims before the actual swim test. Attending at least one practice swim is highly recommended for all applicants. These swims take place along the actual course and are a good way to get some additional tips from lifeguards, see how far along you are in training, and to make sure that you comfortable with the course.
The swims will take place on the South Side of the Santa Monica Pier on August 23rd, and 24th, and on September 20th and 21st.
